Knee pain can be debilitating and prevent normal walking, shopping, driving, dancing and other daily activities. Knee pain can start insidiously or after an injury such as in contact sports or from accident. It is important to get your doctor to review your knee pain.
physiotherapy intervention will be to assess the knee for pain, swelling, tenderness. Pain that decreases with movement indicate no cancer underlying this pain and physiotherapy treatments can commence. Physiotherapist will carry out some test to identify if the pain is from ligaments or muscles. Xray can be requested to rule out fracture.
Knee rrange of motion will be assessed. Muscles strength will be assessed.
Knee strengthening exercises will be taught. Knee brace may be given.
